Abiding Care Team (ACT)

The Abiding Care Team (ACT) is Elm Grove United Methodist Church's visitation and caring ministry. Our team offers compassion, companionship, prayer, and practical support to members of our church family who may be experiencing illness, loneliness, grief, or other difficult circumstances.
We believe one of the most meaningful ways we can serve as disciples of Christ is by showing up for one another. Sometimes that means visiting, making a phone call, sending a card, delivering a meal, or simply reminding someone that they are loved and remembered.
How We Care
The Abiding Care Team serves our church family in many ways, including:
- Visiting people in hospitals, nursing homes, and their homes
- Making phone calls and sending cards
- Offering prayer, encouragement, and companionship
- Providing meals following hospitalization or during difficult circumstances
- Supporting individuals and families experiencing grief
- Helping with transportation or occasional errands when possible
- Sharing worship, music, and prayer with those unable to attend church
Every act of care—large or small—can help someone feel connected, supported, and loved.

If you feel called to care for others, we would also love to have you join the Abiding Care Team. You do not need previous experience. Guidance and support are available, and there are many ways to serve based on your gifts, interests, and available time.
