YOUTH GROUP/MISSION MANIACS

It's that time of year again. Oh yes, the grass is getting green and flowers are blooming, but it is also when Volunteers In Mission trips are blossoming!  There are already 4 church members anticipating a mission trip this year and our Mission Committee has received several applications for support from teens.  That is why we do the annual dinner theater and also serve the Lay Leadership Academy Luncheon.  So, if you'd like to participate in a mission in West Virginia or in another country, here is the list of possibilities.

WITHIN WEST VIRGINIA
Burlington Apple Festival--late September, early October--$25/day or $150/week
Beckley Pumpkin Festival--same as above
Oak Hill UMC Summer Housing Repairs--continuous all summer--$25/day or $150/week

INTERNATIONAL--NEW!
Scotland--July 16-31--$2400
Brazilian Amazon--August 7-15 (one week) --cost to be determined

INTERNATIONAL FAVORITES
African University--June 19-July 3 OR November 7-21
Guatemala--July 10-25--$2000
Wales-Amelia Trust Farm--July 30-August 14
Costa Rica--July 16-31--$2200
The Holy Lands--July 26-August 9--$3200
Mexico--August 7-21--$2200
Hungary--September 6-20--$2850
South Africa--November 7-21--$3800
Russian Orphans Christmas Party--December 28-January 8--$2500

As always, our Mission Committee is uplifting local ways for you to be involved.

THANK YOU for your continued support of our projects.  Your soups and desserts always create a stream of compliments.  Your presence at the dinner theater brings out the best (or worst?) in the actors.  Your donations of food, clothing, newspapers, and animal supplies are gratefully accepted by the receiving organizations. God must smile many times over your generosity.  He has blessed us to be a blessing.
